These incredible pictures show how a brave woman turned her mastectomy scars into a work of art.
Tattoo artist Mim d'Abbs received an email from a survivor, who didn't want to be named, asking if she could come up with a design across her chest.
In battling cancer, the woman had both her breasts removed and wanted an ink pattern to cover up her scars from the operation.
Ms d'Abbs said: "I've had a lot of requests to tattoo over scars on stomachs [but] that was the first time I've had a request to do a post-operative double mastectomy."
She arrived at Darwin City Tattoos in Australia on Wednesday and a rough design was drawn up before being inked to her body.
The pattern is based on two flowers that look like a cross between lilies and lotus.
The artist, who has 21 years experience in tattooing, used the top parts of her breasts to form sections of the flowers.
Ms d'Abbs, who lost a friend to breast cancer, told AbcNet: "It was probably the most emotional I've been about a tattoo, I was very honoured to have the opportunity to make a difference to how somebody viewed themselves who had been dealt not such a great hand."
She agreed with her client to post pictures of the design on Facebook to encourage other women to be proud of their scars.
Within 24 hours of it being uploaded it received 175,000 likes and 14,000 shares.
User Emily O'Connor wrote: "I think she is allowed to do anything that makes her feel good after being so poorly.
"I normally dislike tattoos but this is art for a lady who needed to feel beautiful again."
Shelley Shanley added: "Absolutely beautiful. Classy and sexy!"
Maria Sheen wrote: "Truly amazing what a amazing lady for sharing this with us u are an inspirational lady god bless xxxx"
Ms d'Abbs added: "As a woman, let's face it, your femininity is important - I think that people who have survived a battle like that should be able to whatever they want with their bodies."
