The Governor of Yobe State, Ibrahim Gaidam, said he would give priority to three key sectors, health, agriculture and education during his second term in office.
Gaidam told reporters in Damaturu, his commitment to improve the health sector had currently brought about a reduction in the prevalence of maternal mortality in the state.
He told reporters in his office that he would accord special attention to education sector aimed at ensuring that Yobe indigenes had access to the best education required for technological development of the state.
Gaidam, who described education as bedrock of societal development, said no society can achieve any meaningful development without high-quality education.
He assured the people that government would provide enabling environment to encourage dry season farming with the aim to boost food production.
