Anambara State To Recruit 1000 Health Workers

                              

This is good news for Anambara graduates in health related disciplines, as the state government has said it will recruit over 1000 health workers across board in all the secondary health centres in the state, Daily times reports.
 
It also revealed that more health equipment will be procured to make the 37 general hospitals in the state functional.

The State Commissioner for health, Dr. Joe Akabuike, disclosed this yesterday, while in a meeting with the Heads of General hospitals in the state.
 
According to Akabuike, the kind gesture was Governor Willie Obiano's resolve to enthrone health system that can match others in the world, as well as to increase manpower in the health sector.
 
“We are aware of the challenges facing health sector in this state and  Gov. Willie Obiano is set to tackle them head on. We shall address the issue of infrastructure, procure more equipment and employ more health workers in the State to make health institution in this state functional".
 
He reaffirmed that Governor Obiano had earlier announced salary increment of all health workers in the state to 15percent and has also, signed the primary healthcare development Agency bill into law which aimed at establishing the board that will take care of the management of all the primary health care in the state under one roof.
 
However, the Health Commissioner, while stressing that the number of doctors recruited in the recent recruitment were not enough as people retire from time to time, added that there will be a special package for some health worker that will be posted to the hard to reach areas in the state.
 
Responding, the State Hospital Administrator, Dr. Emmanuel Akpati and Chief Medical Officer in charge of Umunze in Orumba North Local Goveernment area, Dr.Okoli Hillary extolled the State government for calling for the meeting, even as they described it as welcome development in addressing  the major challenges confronting health sector in the state.
