According to a PUNCH
report, a 13-year-old bar attendant has died after allegedly being set ablaze
by his boss following a dispute over N1,500 in the Akoka, Ibafo area of
Ogun State., the boy was allegedly set alight by his boss after
being accused of stealing N1,500. Residents in the area allegedly saved
the victim from further burns and rushed him to hospital.
The victims uncle, one Toyin Olayemi, revealed that the boy succumbed to his injuries at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) on Sunday. He was reported to have been burnt from his head to his abdomen.
The suspect in the case, Bidemi Shittu, owner of the Golden Fingers bar, is alleged to have gone into hiding following the incident.
Meanwhile, youths in the area have threatened to set fire to Shittu's bar but were prevented through the intervention of police officials.
The bar has since been sealed off along with a hotel beside it owned by the suspect's father.
Police are currently on the hunt for Shittu
