Pres. GEJ Urges Nigerians To Pray For Nation's Peace
President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has appealed to Nigerians to spend a little time to pray for the peace of the nation and for peaceful conduct of the elections .
The president made the appeal at a special Holy Ghost service at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Redemption Camp, Km 46, Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
In a brief speech to the faithful during the service, the president said that the whole world was facing challenges, especially of extremism, and Nigeria was not left out.
``I thank you for your steadfast prayers for the country. I request all Nigerians to devote some time to pray for peace in our land.
``I want you to pray to the Almighty Father to bless the country and for His will for the country to be done,’’ he said.
Jonathan said that his administration had gone far in the fight against insurgency, adding that with the collaboration with the country’s neighbors, the nation would smile soon.
The General Overseer of the RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, prayed for the nation using the president as the contact person for the citizenry.
He prayed for peace in the country during and after the elections.
``Let there be peace during the elections and after the elections and for the will of God to be done.
Adeboye thanked God for His love for the nation in and out of election.
``We thank God for Nigeria because in the past we have had problems and you (God) have seen us through. I know that you will see us through.
He asked God to endow the President with wisdom, courage and strength to steer the ship if the nation so that at the end His name will be glorified.
