A car wash attendant has allegedly broken the spinal cord of his friend after an altercation broke out between the two over age!
According to PUNCH news, the attendant, Michael Taiwo, and his childhood friend, Akeem Amoo, allegedly got into a schuffle after Taiwo claimed that he was older than Amoo and therefore deserved more respect during caucus discussions in their Lagos community. Both men are said to be 28 years of age.
The two men challenged each other to a duel after Taiwo claimed that Amoo grazed his leg with the tyre of his motorcycle.
In a bid to show superiority, Taiwo allegedly slammed Amoo on the ground and caused what doctor's ave described as a spinal cord injury.
While the victim is currently receiving treatment at an orthopaedic hospital in Lagos, Taiwo has appeared before the Ikeja Magistrate's Court on one count of assault.
The defendant, however, has pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The case has been adjourned to March 23 for mention.
