Ebola Treatment Centers in Abuja, Lagos and Port Harcourt now Repatriation Centers
The Federal Government has offered its Ebola treatment centres in Lagos, Port Harcourt and Abuja to serve as regional treatment centres for any infected volunteer working in Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia, according to Prof. Abdulsalami Nasidi, project director, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
`In addition to what the federal government is doing with the training and deployment of volunteer workers, it has also directed that the treatment centres be reserved as repatriation centres for any infected volunteer worker.
``The three centres have been so prepared and are ready to accommodate and treat any infected volunteer from Nigeria and any member of the Africa Union Support for Ebola Outbreak in West Africa (ASEOWA) medical corps.’’
Nasidi said the government had put in place all the necessary logistics and personnel at the centres for any reported case.
