FRSC to Train Defence Cadets on Proper Driving
          

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Nigerian Defence Academy to train cadets of the academy on proficiency driving.
Speaking shortly before the formal endorsement of agreement, the FRSC Corps Marshal and Chief Executive, Boboye Oyeyemi, stated that the Corps had drawn a roadmap to positively impact on the nation’s driving culture among the populace.
He said through the new driver’s license, a strong regulatory regime had been put in place to achieve drastic reduction in road traffic crashes.
Oyeyemi added that pursuant to its 2014 strategic goal of reducing road crashes by 15 percent and fatalities by 25 percent, a robust engagement plan has been designed by the FRSC to ensure drastic reduction in road crashes during the 2014 yuletide special patrols tagged ”Operation Zero”
The Corps Marshal also unveiled the FRSC vision towards cutting down on road traffic crashes from next year, through the speed limiters which will be enforced from June 1 as part of measures to enthrone safer road use in the country.
Commandant of the Nigerian Defence Academy, Major General Mohammed Inusa, commended the FRSC management for its giant strides in the area of road safety management through massive deployment of ICT infrastructures.
He added that the training partnership with the Nigerian Defence Academy had impacted positively on the driving conduct of its cadets.
