Aggrieved Imo Youths storm secretariat, demand payment of 4-months allowances
Over 20,000 Imo youths stormed the Imo State Secretariat Complex to demand for their unpaid allowances on Monday December 22nd.
According to Imo Trumpeter, a visit to the secretariat complex along Port Harcourt road Owerri showed that the offices were locked as most of the youths demanding for their money
One of the aggrieved youth who spoke to newsmen revealed that the state government have not been taking good care of them since they were recruited.
According to the beneficiary, the state government has not paid them for more than four months now.
Meanwhile Governor Rochas Okorocha is said to have directed the head of service and Accountant General of the state to commence payment without delay.
The governor has since promised to treat them better next year.
