Lagos commits to uphold Children's Right
       

The Lagos State Government has reiterated its commitment to the protection of children's rights.
The administration urged parents and caregivers to safeguard the minors against all forms of abuse and violence.
The State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Ade Ipaye, made the call in his address at this year’s World Human Rights Day celebration.
 Ipaye recalled that as far back as 2007, the state had seen the need to address and protect the needs of children which culminated in the passage of the Child Rights Law of Lagos State 2007.
Prior to the enactment of the Law, the issue of abuse and domestic violence against children was perpetually on the back burner of public policy, but with the promulgation of the Law, the issue has been brought to consciousness of Nigerians,” Ipaye said.
