The Borno State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) said on Monday that it had targeted 32, 000 families for its `Food for All’ programme aimed at assisting poor families affected by insurgency in the state.
The Executive Chairman of the agency, Malam Grema Terab, said this in an interview with newsmen in Maiduguri.
Terab said the programme was conceived to alleviate the suffering of the victims of the mayhem in the state.
“The Food for All programme is aimed at assisting poor families who are worst hit by the insurgency in the state. Under the programme, each of the benefiting families will be given a bag of rice, maize grid and a gallon of cooking oil.
“So far, we have covered 4, 800 families and the programme is ongoing.
“It is one of the government initiatives aimed at alleviating the suffering of the numerous victims of insurgency,” he said.
He said that the state was the worst hit by the Boko Haram insurgency.

“We now have over 80,000 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in various camps in Maiduguri,” the executive chairman said.
