''Lagos is the Worst Place to visit on Earth''- Yahoo travel writer
Yahoo Travel writer Lee Abbamonte have been described as the Youngest American to have visited all 193 of United Nation member Countries.
This is what he said about Lagos:
"As far as I am concerned, Lagos, Nigeria, is the worst place on planet Earth. I’ve never experienced so much corruption in my life. It was just a horrific experience getting into the country. Crossing in from Benin, we got shaken down by the border guards. In addition to the multiple police shakedowns, the multiple ATM issues were enough for me; three times in two days, the machines dispensed the wrong amount of money. It was oppressive and hot. I couldn’t tell you one good thing about that place."
Below is the picture he shared of Lagos:
Sad photos of 11 year old with a Health condition that makes her look very old
An 11-year-old girl, Ashanti Elliot-Smith is suffering from a very rare terminally ill disease which causes her body to age 8 times faster than normal.
People with this condition, do not live beyond 13-15 years.
Ashanti's rare condition, Hutchinson Gilford Progeria, causes symptoms including stunted growth, hair loss, weight loss, wrinkled skin, stiff joints, and heart disease.
Hutchinson-Gilford
progeria syndrome is a genetic condition characterised by the dramatic,
rapid appearance of aging beginning in childhood.
Affected
children typically look normal at birth and in early infancy, but then
grow more slowly than other children and do not gain weight at the
expected rate.
They
develop a characteristic facial appearance including prominent eyes, a
thin nose with a beaked tip, thin lips, a small chin, and protruding
ears.
Hutchinson-Gilford
progeria syndrome also causes hair loss (alopecia), aged-looking skin,
joint abnormalities, and a loss of fat under the skin.
The
condition does not disrupt intellectual development or the development
of motor skills such as sitting, standing, and walking.
It is commonly referred to simply as Progeria, the Greek word for 'prematurely old'.
The disease is caused by a mutation in the gene called LMNA, which produces protein.
Sufferers commonly die of heart disease at an average age of 13 years old.

Nurses to be Replaced By Robots in Japan
Japan's National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology and robot design company Kokoro have created male and female robot nurses in a bid to address patient needs in hospitals where there is a shortage of nurses.
While Actroid F, the female nurse was created some time ago, the companies built her male partner more recently and gave both 'retinas' to increase their functionality.
The robots imitate movements of the people they are watching and are placed as observers in hospitals to see how patients feel in their presence.
By placing cameras in the retinas of the robots they have made it possible for them to direct their line of sight towards the patient.
Researchers say reactions were mostly positive and that patients felt lonely after the robots left their rooms.
Japan has a shortage of nurses (and a growing elderly population) and it is estimated that the country could save trillions of yen in healthcare costs each year by using robots to monitor and comfort the nation's elderly.

Family Quarantined Itself for 5 months
One South Carolina family has voluntarily blocked themselves off from the outside world—not to protect others, but to protect their 4-year-old daughter, Eliza, who suffers from the most severe form of a rare genetic disorder called Sanfilippo syndrome.
The metabolic disorder, diagnosed in 2013, is already slowing Eliza's ability to talk, reports People, and will eventually rob her of the ability to walk, eat, and finally, to breathe.
Most people with the syndrome die by their teen years, so while the isolation—now in its fifth month—is taking its toll, the family says it's worth it.
"We'll do this as long as it takes," says dad Glenn O'Neill. Their aim is to keep her healthy so she can take part in a clinical trial, likely early next year, they hope will lead to a cure.
"We have heard stories from families of older kids with Sanfilippo where a sickness at this stage started the downward slide even faster and they never fully recovered," says Glenn O'Neill.
Because even fairly benign viruses like the common cold can exacerbate Eliza's symptoms and speed the progression of the disorder, mom Cara O'Neill has quit her job as a pediatrician and Glenn O'Neill now works from home, while Eliza and her 7-year-old brother, Beckham, are home-schooled.

Nigerian Lady Dies in Bangkok After attempting Buttock Enlargement Surgery
Joy Williams, a 23-year old Nigerian girl was said to have traveled to Bangkok this month for a buttock augmentation without their consent.
Joy traveled to Bangkok with £2000 to have the surgery at SP clinic which turned out to be a success at first, but shortly after that, it turned out that her wounds had already become infected.
She rushed back for a corrective surgery, but sadly Joy died on the operating table.
Her family has denied ever knowing she traveled to Bangkok and said she was a girl loved by all. Here is what her brother who spoke to Dailymail from Lagos said about her demise;
“We don't really know what went wrong, we only know what is in reports in the media. She was a very nice and caring person. She brought joy to people's lives. She was a beautiful girl, loved by everybody. We will miss her so much.'
He added that family members are planning to visit the country so they could get her corpse.
The doctor who carried out the procedure, Sompob Sansiri, has however been arrested and officials say they have already started investigating the cause of her death.
Though born in Lagos, Joy moved to Thamesmead with her mom in 2007 and had visited Thailand twice before deciding to go for the surgery.
Ebola Scare at Lagos International Airport
Passengers and other users of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos were on Wednesday thrown into panic as a suspected Ebola patient was flown into the country by Royal Air Maroc in the early hours of the day.
The Moroccan airline arrived Lagos from Casablanca at 6am.
The
victim, one Theophilus Onnakhinon, a Nigerian, was said to have been
flown into the country by the airline, while his younger brother,
Chinedu Eroka, absconded from Sierra Leonean authorities.
As at the time of filing this report, it was not clear why Eroka absconded from the Sierra Leone.
A
source close to the Port Health Services at the airport, who spoke on
condition of anonymity, explained that the passenger had already been
treated for the Ebola Virus Disease and declared cured.
The source said the passenger was assisted into the country by a Nigerian consular official, Mrs. T. Mohammed.
According
to the source, the consular officer accompanied Onnakhinon into the
country in order to avoid stigmatisation by Nigerian health officials
and others at the airport.
On arrival, he was immediately handed over to the Port Health officials, who immediately isolated and quarantined him.
As of the time of filing this report, Onnakhinon was still being observed by the Port Health officials.
The
source said that the essence of his being quarantined was for the
officials to determine his health status and confirm that he was indeed
free of the disease before being allowed to integrate into the society.
The
source said, “It is true that there was an Ebola scare at the Lagos
airport today, but the fact is that the victim had been cured of the
disease in Sierra Leone before being assisted into Nigeria by our
consular officer in that country.
“Immediately
he landed, he was handed over to the port health authorities who
immediately carried out checks on him and isolated him from other
passengers.
“But the truth is that we just want
to re-check what has already been done by the Sierra Leonean
authorities. You know, we cannot take chances again in the country. I
can assure you that the situation is under control.”
Wednesday’s incident came a week after the World Health Organisation declared Nigeria Ebola free

CUCUMBER
Yes Cucumber.
Beautiful, attractive succulent juicy Cucumber
Cucumbers belong to the plant group as pumpkin, and watermelon (the Cucurbitaceae family). Cucumbers are made up of mostly (95 percent) water, which means eating them on a hot sunny day can help you stay hydrated.
In Nigeria, we enjoy eating it with peanuts or using it as a salad with rice.
Here are some benefits of Cucumber:
