WHO says that World Health Day 2015 is a chance to recognize the food safety role of all those involved in food production and to strengthen collaboration and coordination among these areas in order to prevent, detect and respond to foodborne diseases efficiently.
World Health Day is celebrated each year on April 7 and the team for this year is focused on FOOD SAFETY.
Collette Nature Blog, CNB, advocate for safe food and good hand washing routines because food contaminated with bacteria, salmonella, viruses e.t.c can lead to disability and death.
These are the five principles of handling and preparing food as highlighted by WHO:
1. Keep it clean.
2. Separate raw and cooked food.
3. Cook thoroughly.
4. Cook food at safe temperatures.
5. Use safe water and raw materials.
