150,000 Nigerians Benefit From Free Health Care Services

About 150,000 Nigerians had enjoyed the free health services organised recently by the Rotarians for Family Health and AIDS prevention (RFHA) of Rotary International.
The free health services included HIV testing, family counseling, diabetes and hypertension screening and education, breast and cervical cancers screening, polio immunisation, malaria testing and provision of long lasting insecticides nets, condom distribution, eye and dental checks, among others.

Speaking at the launch programme of the Rotary Family Health Days 2015 at the Rotary Centre, Ikeja, Lagos, Director, West Africa Operations, RFHA, Rotarian Olugbemiga Olowu, said the vision and mission of RHFA was to improve the lives of vulnerable children and families by mobilising Rotarians and partner organisations globally in the fight against HIV/AIDS and other diseases.

“The Rotary Family Health Days are a comprehensive, holistic offering of free healthcare for parents, children, grand-parents, friends and all family members in over 130 sites from Kano, Gombe, Jos, Kaduna, Abuja to Enugu, Owerri, Yenogoa, Calabar, Benin down to Akure, Ibadan, Ijebu-Ode, Abeokuta, Lagos and many other villages, towns and cities in 27 of the 36 states of Nigeria.
