Strangled New Baby causes Stir in Owerri

              

Residents of World Bank Estate, New Owerri; outskirts of the state capital were startled yesterday morning on spotting the mangled body of a new born baby in a major dump-site in the area.
The pitiable sight of the baby suspected to have been mangled by the attackers judging from the decapitated body was spotted inside a dump site at World Bank market road, Owerri. The decomposing body raised eyebrows as residents including market people gathered to discuss and have a look at the baby. It also caused traffic hold-up for the early morning road users. Policemen who were spotted near the scene controlling traffic and observing people having a look at the abandoned baby could not utter a word when approached for comments.
A closer look showed that the baby may have been strangled to death before being thrown into the dump site.
