Nigerian ICT Sector receives Global Praise
               
The Secretary General of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), Houlin Zhao, has commended Nigeria on its broadband policy initiatives and successes recorded in the sector.
According to a statement obtained by this publication from Ministry of Communication Technology, he gave the commendation at the official opening ceremony of Nigeria’s pavilion at the International Telecommunications Union Telecom World in Doha, Qatar.
Zhao in his brief remarks applauded Nigeria for deploying 4G for commercial services.
He said that had put Nigeria ahead of much of Europe and China, seen as powerhouses in the sector.
Nigerian Minister of Communication Technology, Dr Omobola Johnson also showcased success stories and growth of Nigeria’s ICT sector’ topotential investors at the occassion.
Johnson urged investors to make use of the opportunity presented by Nigeria’s presence at the ITU Telecom World to speak with some of investors and partners.
